Vietnamese mossy frog (Theloderma corticale) - pen and ink and colored pencil

This is a pen and ink and colored pencil drawing of a Vietnamese mossy frog (Theloderma corticale). I saw these at the Toledo Zoo awhile back and was fascinated by their bumpy, mottled appearance. They blend right in with the moss and rocks in their habitat. On one hand, it was rather difficult to render, but on the other, very fun to just let the pen squiggle around all of the irregular shapes and patterns.

This is nice Carol, I like the soft purple background you chose too, goes well with the brown but isn't too overstated. (sounds like a fashion critique haha) He does look like he'll blend right into his environment!
ps.I was able to move my blog over to my website, Yippee!! working hard on it all.

Thanks, Mary! I was too lazy to draw the mossy rock he was sitting on, so I just did a light background. :) Congrats on getting your blog moved over - your website looks great!
